They are both valid..just one is the class and the other is the person in the class. It's a bumper sticker guaranteed to freak out the squares either way!

my librarian friend sent me the OED entry and i decided in current usage "proletariat" is used in reference to the class, as a singular (group) noun only, and "proletariats" would be improper in the above sentence! though "proletariats" was used to refer to members of the class as recently as the seventies. the usage has now fallen out of favor! this is something i spent some time doing, and i can never get this time back! i have no one to blame but myself!

I love it. Also, if you end up expanding your range of merchandise from just T-shirts to other items as well, please consider selling "we're all proletariats now BITCH" bumper stickers. Usually I get annoyed by "just confusing" stickers, but this is a clear exception.
