ryan and i are in zacatecas. it is gorgeous, we are probably staying. i'm sure he will have more to say on his blog. (probably tomorrow)

we're sitting on the roof garden of our hostel. the city is all hills, lit up, cobblestone streets, very european. there is a festival right now, and live music is echoing out from the cathedral plaza below us.

i'm absolutely exhausted. tomorrow we will be looking at places to live and maybe taking one of those sky-tram-things between two mountains. our friend vladimir showed us some nice places we might live.

we've been moving so much i haven't been able to draw much--next i think next i'd like to make a little comic about THE BUTTON. if you've taken a bus from the border to chihuahua you might know what i mean! THE BUTTON

I think i'd like to see how your "unwieldy hair cephalopod*" progresses over time in your drawings.

yeah, my hair is probably gonna get real unwieldy the longer i am here. i've got kind of a weird asymmetrical thing going on right now that will probably be terrifying in a couple months. i think i don't draw my hair because in my comics i am the default human being, and people are drawn with other features because they are different from me! (self-centered artistic gaze!)

they were the saddest of donkeys. most of them were wearing sombreros and even that could not disguise the sadness.

zacatecas really is beautiful! I think I've been to that same hostel, too. Is it this one?

you have to check out guanajuato! i love that town.

aw I love going to Mexico. 'Course, I've only ever been to two tiny little places in Jalisco, Oconahua and Etzatlan. Which I think are pretty far from Chihuahua.

But if you ever end up there...I think half the people in Oconahua are related to me. Somehow. Or so they say.

Anyway. Have fun! Eat ice cream. It's better in Mexico, I swear!
