thank you all for your kind words of encouragement while i made this comic! there are a lot of things wrong with webcomics, but one of them is that a small contained story really has nowhere to go. also "updating" encourages "winging it" rather than conceiving of a piece as a whole, creating, and revising it as such. and people wonder why some print comic artists have a casual disdain for webcomics! it is because we are just makin' shit up. seriously, it is hard to make cohesive art when the process of creating the whole involves making each piece stand at least partially on its own. this is okay for sometimes! but not for always. enough though, i'm tired. why are the lines on page 9 so much thicker than the rest? i do not want to talk about how long it took me to draw an automobile.

i've enjoyed this series very much.

as someone who used to do webcomics and now has moved to print, i wholeheartedly agree with your statement about webcomics. well put.

thanks! i kind of want to put together a little essay about the things that webcomics have to work against. i also am usually debating just doing print stuff, because i like paper. i wish i could recreate what this comic looks like in my moleskine.

Very Buñuel-esque. The Discrete Charm of Retarded, maybe?

I also appreciate the webcomic-related creative observations. *writing down while mumbling.* "Winging it not good for always..."

it'd be better if stevie was always ABOUT to eat berries. and also somebody retells that silly dream with the dead people. and then about five layers of people waking up from the narrative!

Yes indeed, thit story is far more than the sum of its parts. Which is to say, it's better in one shot that ittie-bittie pages.

Just on the way up the hill an hour ago, I was thinking that the big drag of livejournal is trying to read comics in little bits, or backwards or in various messed up ways. So thank for posting this all in one big chunk.

Also, it was a really strange and interesting, and funny story. You are doing some great stuff there John Campbell.

thanks jason. i've been thinking about this for a while. i will probably just need to move away from livejournal if i want to make little short stories. it is such a great place for one-shots though. i don't know. i will continue to ponder i would guess.

That's really good! I mean, really. How come you're not all famous and stuff? The comic has a new pacing when all presented all at once. Faster than originally, it makes it like a topsy turvy dream, rushing towards a retard called Stevie looking down at his hands. Before, it was more "let's hang with the band ~~ but whuu? Hold on... wow". I'm not sure which was better, but then I read too fast.

In summation, you have given me this feeling (http://www.qwantz.com/index.pl?comic=729). Feel proud.
