At one time I thought of doing a comic of the Death of Garfield, just because I had noticed that the saddest comics often dealt with someone's pet dying.

i don't know that i've read any comics about pets dying. wait, i think there was something in goodbye chunky rice. that was terribly sad. it's a good way to deal with the same death issues while avoiding bombast and epic grief.

calvin and hobbes might not work so well! what with the comics involving actual action and dialog about specific things.

i made it, and i don't know that i'd show it to jim davis on purpose, for fear of PAWS, INC. unleashing a flurry of lawyers.

Man, this was so awesome, I'm only now recovering and up to writing a comment. It's a combination of side-tearing glory and disturbing profundity. In other, shorter words, it's dead-on john jangly!

I don't know if the link will work, but you can search around for "Garfield: His Nine Lives".
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0345008103/sr=8-2/qid=1154985240/ref=sr_1_2/104-1023450-2262307?ie=UTF8

There is some seriously twisted material in there, seriously. Try reading it when you're 10 (not sure how you'll swing that, but give it your best shot).

It is time. Either John gets laid, Garfield dies or Opie kicks the shit out of Garfield.
This comic strip is a waste of newspaper.

you realise on the current comics, Jon *is* actually dating Liz? He didn't quite get laid yet, but there was some making up.

apparently you geeks are retards. whoever made this just cut a bunch of different strips from different days together and made it look like the cat is dead. hello look at the backdrop of each frame. and retard- if you want to make it look realistic cut the dates off the edge of the comic strip. it goes from 7-10 to 8-30 to 11-8.
