John I was reading through your LJ archives and in your journal comics from some back I saw you use the word "pinche" which solved a long-standing mystery of my family. Growing up in Mexico my dad was frequently called a "pinche puto gringo gabacho," and obviously puto and gringo are pretty obvious and once we caught on to that Google stuff we figured out gabacho, but he mistakenly remembered "pinche" as "pinchi" and thus we were stymied until now.

Anyway, thanks for helping me and my dad figure out the tremendously huge insult he was called as a missionary kid in Mexico in the 60s and 70s.

Pinche and Pinchi are the same. The true meaning of Pinche is "Chef Helper". But here at Mexico is used as damned, goddamned, or fucking, and it depends of the tone can be considered an insult or not.
